Ben Newling
Started fencing as a youth in England. He came to Fredericton to take a position in the Physics department at UNB. We have been fortunate to have Ben's coaching support primarily in our introductory programs since 2002.

Sebastien Fournet
Sebastien Fournet began his fencing journey in 2017, focusing on epee in France before moving to Canada with his family in 2019. A dedicated competitor, Sebastien has earned medals in tournaments across Canada, including winning the East Coast Games 2024 and the NB Provincial Team Epee event in 2023.

Jacob Wagman
Jacob Wagman, originally from Ottawa, is a skilled fencing coach and athlete with experience in both foil and epee. He began his fencing journey as a foilist and has since expanded his expertise to coach both weapons. Jacob has been a dedicated coach and competitor at Damocles Fencing Club for several years, earning medals in tournaments across Canada.

Esme Newling

David Dreysdale
David Dreysdale, from Fredericton, NB, is an experienced fencer and coach at Damocles Fencing Club. Initially focusing on foil as a youth, David returned to the sport a few years ago and now competes in both foil and epee. He has earned medals at provincial, national, and US competitions and is an active competitor on the veteran's circuit in Canada and the US.

Joe Kinley
Joe Kinley is a seasoned fencing professional with over 20 years of experience as an athlete, coach, and referee. Originally from Lunenburg, NS, he began his fencing journey in 1997 and has competed at both provincial and national levels. Joe has held various coaching positions, including head coach at UNB and assistant head coach at the South Shore Duelists Fencing Club. Professionally, Joe serves as a Naval Warfare Officer in the Royal Canadian Navy and is a Professional Engineer. Now residing in New Maryland, NB, he is delighted to be a part of Damocles Fencing Club as a coach.
